Movie Review: LockDown

After a very long time, I decided to watch a movie at random and I felt this one fits the times that we live in.

I watched LockDown and this movie was made during 2020 and the actual lockdown and my initial feelings were I am going to watch this and delete it straightaways as I was thinking it was going to be a one time watch that really was going to be a bore-fest and well at the start it was all about meetings and skype and zoom meetings and the first hour we were watching the cast of actors actually interacting via video conferencing software and it was really strange to watch this as it was like watching a massive novel just full of text and no action.

The movie at first made me feel like I was watching Sidewalks of New York and it had that independent filmmaking feel to it but soon changed.

You really do not know if you are watching a comedy, drama or romantic movie.

At first, you feel like your watching a set of people interacting during COVID19 and just watching how they survive during this time.

However, there is more to it than that it turns out to be a dry love story that needs watering and also a crime movie which is kinda lacklustre.

The cast is big and A grade but they carry the novel during LockDown as best as they can and there is some light at the end of the tunnel but the suspense that they build you do not really get emotionally involved I had times that I could sit and play mobile games if and when I wanted to.

The cast included Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anne Hathaway, Ben Kingsley, Dule Hill from Suits and Ben Stiller and Mindy Kaling

To me, this is an A-grade cast but I wished it was done better however due to the time we live in it was done as best as it could have been made.

I felt no suspense I did not laugh nor was there any actual chemistry between the two main leads like I said it was like watching a long 2-hour novel.

A one-time adult-orientated story with nothing really violent about it. The subject matter is adult relationship issues and the fact there is a crime involved.

Something just to pass the time a one time watch and if you missed it. it’s not the end of the world.
