After browsing for a long time my wife came in and said to me do you want to watch a movie the wifey had already decided on Lightyear the origin story of Buzz Lightyear and how this is connected to the Toy Story franchise I guess you would have to sit and watch and find out for yourselves.

I at first did not really know what to think about this movie as cartoons need to get my attention pretty quickly otherwise it’s a movie that I would watch at the same time as mobile gaming.

Lightyear however did make me put my phone down and watch it from start to finish.

The wifey choose this movie because of our daughter however she was not into it and was scared of it as much as I tried to get her to watch the flick she was on daddy’s tablet watching YouTube videos.

The movie cast starts with Chris Evans yes Captain America is Buzz Lightyear in this movie and not Tim Allen.

The movie also has Uzo Aduba you would know her more from the hit prison series “Orange is the New Black” Crazy Eyes

The movie goes for over ninety minutes and there is a particular few minutes that feels like Ground Hog Day just scenes repeating themselves over and over in the movie it claims that one lightyear equals four earth years.

Unlike Toy Story, this is a movie that takes itself seriously by telling an epic origin story and there are no musical numbers.

Both my wife and I were impressed and my wife was a tad confused about how this movie connects to Toy Story but all I can say is watch the movie it will make sense.

However, I am not sure then which toy you would like better Buzz or Woody?

The moral of the story is about the journey that you take and not about if you get it right and this is why both my wife and I enjoyed this movie. Do not stop living your life just because you don’t get it right the first time there is no way of going back and changing things. Although in Science Fiction movies time travel going back in time is and maybe a possibility but not in real life.

There is merit to this movie and your younger older kids would enjoy it.

I gave it a 7/10 and my wife gave it an 8/10.

I would say kids 7 and above would enjoy it my 3 and something old was too young.

Add this to your list and watch it.
