MOVIE REVIEWS: Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge (AMAZON PRIME) 2020 R+18

For a lazy Sunday afternoon after a big Saturday and an outing with the whole family as my daughter wanted to have a trip to Macca’s which we did then came home and they all took naps now Daddy got a chance to watch something on his many never-ending movie lists.

I chose a Mortal Kombat animated movie like no other. I have to say this should be made into a live-action version and be the new second part of the original Mortal Kombat movie from the ’90s.

Can you believe this animated movie was bought to you by Warner Brothers Animation the intro has the WB intro animation with Daffy Duck going nuts and then at the end of the intro WB sign Scorpion pops out and says “Get Over Here” and basically pulls daffy and kills him. This should be enough to tell me this ain’t no kiddy cartoon as there is a lot of animated bloody violence.

The story revolves around the title of what the movie states Scorpions Revenge and a Mortal Kombat tournament like the movie how the bad guys have one 9 tournament and they just need one more to defeat Earth Realm and take over the universe.

We watch a battle between Subzero and Scorpion as Scorpion has not transformed into Scorpion yet he is coming back home to his wife with his son after a day in the field then h comes back to his village to see it dead quiet and then all the subzero clan of assassins come out to kill Scorpion and his son and well although he is successful in killing his son in the most inhuman way this also gives reason and motive to Scorpion to fight for the good guys and the rest of the characters are really like supporting characters as Lu Kangs storyline we all know and have seen before so they do not go down that path only to discuss it in small parts.

The animated movie is half decent although a tad too violent and something you have to switch off from and just follow the story and see what happens to the whole storyline and how they make it fresh and new as the story of Mortal Kombat is tweaked as I mentioned its Scorpion focused.

If you are a Mortal Kombat fan definitely have to watch this if you are not you can give it a miss and be prepared for bloody violence and make sure you do not allow any of the kids to watch this. No Kids allowed.

A little easter egg that would make you smile Jennifer Carpenter from another Bloody show Dexter plays Sonya Blade

My Rating

Rating: 3 out of 5.
