Like sands through the hourglass so are the Days of Our Lives. Dune is the first part in an epic sci-fi action flick that I feel gives us a version of Star Wars however you do not have space around you but a world of sand and spice.
We are thrown into a story about a family that is of noble creed and look after their most valuable resource and which is spice from the sands and with this, other kingdoms want to take them over and rule the entire spice universe. I can see this in a great epic movie series if they play their cards right and tell the story accurately.

I found the helicopter vehicles that looked like flying insects looked cool they are called Thopters. What does it look like for you?
What I liked about this movie was that it was something new brought out by movie studios based on a game that I used to play on the computer even before console gaming.
I forgot to mention that this movie took me three sittings to finish as it is over two and a half hours long and well when you are trying to set up a new story and a new universe you have to do it right.

The CGI scenes were plenty and when you look at the CGI sand you can tell when it comes to the waves of sand scenes you can see that it’s not there and that the actors are not in danger accept one scene when one of the female actors starts to thump the ground to awake something as the bad guys come to kill her and after three thumps the sand creates the biggest sand hole in the ground and sucks them all in and she sacrifices herself rather than being killed by the bad guys she gets taken by the sand.
There are several houses in Dune, did you know there are 8?
1 House Atreides.
2 Boro family.
3 House Corrino.
4 House Ecaz.
5 House Fenring.
6 House Hagal.
7 House Ginaz.
8 House Harkonnen.

We mostly focus on the interactions with House Atreides and how they lead the spice kingdom/universe and how the other houses want to be the new Spice kings with some Game of Thrones kinda scheming we get to see some action and I have to say the fight scenes and the special power they have to make themselves automatically move like what we see in Matrix days by a switch of a button from a piece of technology is pretty cool however this does not make anyone unbeatable.

The movie as I mentioned before has some casualties and well there is a love story but not the kind you expect it’s a love story of a mother and father who have for their only heir their son and the future leader of House Atreides and they do everything and anything to make sure no harm comes to him.

There are some scenes near the last act of the movie that made the movie feel like Terminator 2 and how Sarah O’Connor makes sure her son is alive and just the way the two actors look at each other gives you the T2 feeling.

The bad guys look like the characters from the Halo game with the helmet on XBOX. Although it’s got some characteristics that remind you of something as I just mentioned it’s still new enough to keep you entertained and it’s a movie that you have to pay attention to the details until the very end.
I wish the movie had some special end-credit scenes but it had nothing of the sort.

The cast is great firstly yes the young girl in Paul Atredies dreams is Zendaya and no although Paul Timithoy’s character is supposed to be taken back by Zendaya’s character the two do not seem to have any on-screen chemistry probably a good thing for Timothy as you do not want to get bitten by a Spiderman.
Other actors that are worthy of a mention are Oscar Isaac you may know him from The Moon King and the last movie I saw him in was “The Card Counter” the movie he made before this movie

We also have Aquaman in this movie Jason Mamoa how he survives outside of water who knows in this movie? lol There are some other big names as well like another MCU actor Dave Bautista and who plays an alien from the other houses.

Get in quick before the movie leaves Netflix on the 1st of September 2023.

The movie is violent and I would say younger audiences watch it with parents
